BLACKBOX'S BIO MECHS: BlackBox Comics has announced an April 24 launch for Bio Mechs.

Here's how the book is described:

"Written by Jay Sandlin and based on a story created by Sandlin and BlackBox publisher, Dimitrios Zaharakis, the book features gorgeous art by Cleber Souza Lima and Fabio Da Silva Bandres with letters by Cynna Ael. After surviving for eons hidden away from the outside world, the peace on Mechis is shattered by the arrival of the insectoid Hive, who seek to enslave the Bio Mech inhabitants and conquer the planet."

The first issue arrives in stores with four covers from some of Transformers' well-known artists. Cover A is a new image from the series' art team of Lima and Bandres, Cover B is by Chris Batista, Cover C from Livia Ramondelli and Cover D by Raffaele Forte.

The book will also mark BlackBox Comics' debut on FOC (Final Order Cut-Off) in March, giving retailers and readers extra time to pre-order copies of the new series before it hits shelves on April 24. Subsequent issues will feature the one main cover plus incentives for retailers who support the series.

GO, GO, POWER...: BOOM! Studios has announced that Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Return #1, written by the original Pink Ranger, Amy Jo Johnson, along with co-writer Matt Hotson and artist Nico Leon, has sold out at the distributor level and will be going back to press.

The second printing will feature a character design cover art by Dan Mora and will be available in stores on March 6.

FRIDAY BOX OFFICE.: Argylle topped the Friday domestic box office with $1.96 million, pushing its total to $24.2 million.

SCORSESE COMIC: Titan Comics has scheduled an Oct. 15 release for Martin Scorsese, a 364-page book from Amazing Ameziane.

Here's how Titan describes the book:

"Martin Scorsese, totally possessed by his love of cinema, tells the story of the journey of the asthmatic little boy from Little Italy who went on to become one of the world's greatest director. Martin takes the reader on a witty journey through his somewhat rock and roll life and behind the scenes of the cinematic masterpieces he has given us."
